Our client is an independent organic and vegan food company and a brand owner and importer of a wide range of speciality foods, distributed to the health food trade and supermarkets around the UK. Based in West London, this is an exciting opportunity to join a respected and sought after company.

The Specification Technologist will have a minimum of 3-5 years knowledge and have experience working with the Technical Team dealing with the following:

  • Responding to internal and external enquiries for technical information, completing customer questionnaires, specifications, new line forms and other technical documentation.
  • Undertaking communication with the suppliers and managing suppliers technical documentation to ensure accuracy and continuous compliance with the relevant regulations, agreed specifications and company standards.
  • Maintaining product database, ERP system, product specifications and related records with up to date and accurate information.
  • Assisting with customer queries and complaints and investigating them with the suppliers.
  • Working closely with the Product Development team, providing technical input to ensure full compliance of the final product and product label sign off.
  • Maintaining third-party standards compliance (Organic, Demeter, Vegan, Kosher, Packaging waste and recyclability reporting obligations).

It is essential that the successful candidate has experience working in a Specification Technologist or similar position within the Food industry, managing complex technical documentation. Must also have working knowledge of EU/UK Food Regulations incl. HACCP, Labelling and Allergen Legislation. Good data skills and have the ability to prioritize and timely complete varied workload. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is important, as is, being a team player with excellent communication skills. This is a very good opportunity with great benefits.
