This position offers a Graduate Engineer the chance to step directly into a supervisory environment supporting structural maintenance and improvement schemes across Gloucestershire. The role involves guiding works from early planning through to on-site delivery, ensuring that safety, quality, and programme requirements are consistently met. The Graduate Engineer will gain exposure to design coordination, commercial processes, and client interaction while contributing to essential public infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day activities on structural maintenance and construction schemes, ensuring progress aligns with agreed schedules.
- Develop practical delivery plans that reflect technical requirements, operational constraints, and statutory obligations.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety procedures across multiple sites.
- Undertake routine inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify issues and support continuous improvement.
- Serve as the main communication link with the local authority client, providing updates and resolving operational queries.
- Work collaboratively with designers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure technical and logistical requirements are met.
- Manage material procurement and ensure timely delivery to support efficient site operations.
- Record completed works, submit valuations, and monitor project costs under the term-maintenance contract.
