A dependable and experienced Mobile Air-Conditioning Engineer is required to deliver both planned and reactive maintenance across a national retail portfolio. Although the role is centred on air-conditioning systems, a broad understanding of mechanical and electrical building services is essential. You will work independently and alongside other engineers or subcontractors to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive tasks and breakdowns within retail stores and distribution environments.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on a range of systems, including splits, VRFs, AHUs, DX units, and occasional central plant equipment.
- Support upgrade works, refurbishments, and retrofit projects while minimising disruption to store operations.
- Provide accurate quotations for remedial works or system replacements following service visits.
- Maintain FGAS compliance documentation and update internal reporting systems.
- Work collaboratively with site managers, colleagues, and subcontractors to deliver a seamless service.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (minimum requirement).
- F-Gas Certification (C&G 2079 Category 1).
- Strong technical knowledge of air-conditioning systems and general mechanical services.
- Previous experience in a mobile commercial or retail maintenance role.
- Confident in fault-finding and diagnostics, with a proactive and customer-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence (up to 6 points).
