We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to oversee and support the operations of our clients cemetery services team. This critical role involves supervising day-to-day activities, ensuring the efficient delivery of services, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of cemetery operatives to deliver high-quality services.
  • Oversee burial preparation, grounds maintenance, and other operational tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate the use of equipment such as 360 excavator machinery for excavation tasks.
  • Provide on-the-job training and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure sensitivity and professionalism at all times.
  • Manage schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor performance to ensure operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role, preferably within grounds maintenance services.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.
  • Certification in Cemetery Operatives Training Scheme (COTS) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in operating 360 excavator machinery and other relevant equipment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and undertake physical tasks.
