About Distyl AI

Distyl is an applied AI technology company partnering with the world’s most ambitious institutions to rearchitect critical operations for the frontier of AI. Our customers include the largest companies in telecom, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, consumer goods, and global social organizations. We research and deploy technologies that power AI‑native operations — both for our partners and for Distyl itself. Our work spans research into self‑constructing systems, the development of the most reliable execution of AI systems, and products that transform mission‑critical workflows. As a result, Distyl's technologies affect some of the world’s largest operations — from hundreds of millions of consumer interactions to tens of millions of supply chain transactions and millions of patient journeys. Distyl is backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Coatue, DST Global, and the board‑members of 20+ F500s. The results reflect this approach: a 100% production deployment success rate for our customers and one of the few enterprise AI companies to run a profitable business.

What We Are Looking For

As an AI Strategist, you'll be the project lead on customer engagements — pairing with a technical lead to drive teams of engineers and researchers toward solving the problems that matter most to our clients. You own business outcomes. You earn trust. You see engagements through from the first discovery conversation to measurable, lasting impact. As our first hire in London, you'll also play a meaningful role in shaping how Distyl shows up in the UK market. This role requires a curious and analytical approach, the ability to identify valuable problems to solve, strong product instincts, and a deep commitment to customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Earn Customer Trust: You are Distyl's primary relationship owner — credible with end-users, compelling with C‑suite stakeholders, and trusted by both.
  • Own Engagements End-to-End: You'll start by getting to grips with a customer's world — their workflows, their pain points, the gap between where they are and where they want to be. You'll identify where AI can make a genuine difference, scope a meaningful project, and lead your team to deliver it with precision. Delivery isn't the finish line; adoption and impact are.
  • Lead Cross‑Functional Teams: Working alongside a technical lead, you'll direct engineers and researchers to move fast and stay focused. You'll keep the team anchored to outcomes, not just outputs.
  • Navigating Enterprise Data: Real enterprise data is messy. You'll know how to find the signal, understand the constraints, and design for reliability — not just accuracy in ideal conditions.
  • Drive User Adoption: Getting a system built is one thing. Getting people to use it, trust it, and rely on it is another. You'll own that challenge — onboarding users, gathering feedback, and iterating until the product genuinely earns its place in their workflow.
  • Feed the Product Roadmap: You're on the front lines. You'll surface what customers actually need, translating real‑world friction into product improvements that make Distyl better for everyone.

Who You Are

  • Experienced in complex, client‑facing work: You've led projects, managed stakeholders, and delivered results in AI, technology consulting, or a fast‑moving enterprise environment.
  • A strong communicator: You can hold a room with a CTO and sit down with an ops team to understand their daily frustrations. You adapt without losing your point of view.
  • Genuinely curious about how things work: You embed yourself in customer workflows until you understand them better than the people doing them. You ask the second and third question, not just the first.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: You can walk into a complex situation, cut through the noise, identify what actually matters, and build a path forward.
  • Optimistic about AI: Not naively, but with a grounded belief that applied AI can genuinely transform how organisations work, and the drive to prove it.
  • Technical enough to be dangerous: You're comfortable with Python, SQL, or similar tools. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to be able to work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with one.
  • Willing to travel: Expect 25–75% travel, varying by engagement.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Workplace Pension Scheme with employer contributions.
  • Private Medical Insurance (PMI) offered.
  • Flexible Time Off + Holidays.
  • Lunch provided on office days.
  • Access to state‑of‑the‑art models, generous usage of modern AI tools, and real‑world business problems.
  • Ownership of high‑impact projects across top enterprises.
  • A mission‑driven, fast‑moving culture that prizes curiosity, pragmatism, and excellence.

We believe diverse perspectives make our work stronger and more impactful. We are an equal opportunity employer and evaluate all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
