As Disturbia continues to grow, the need has arisen to appoint an experienced IT Systems Manager to join our IT & Dev team in Northumberland. The successful candidate will support the Director of IT in delivering and maintaining efficient and secure IT systems, and providing outstanding front-line IT support to staff. The business predominantly uses the Microsoft 365 ecosystem for collaboration and endpoint management, alongside other relevant software such as Adobe Creative Cloud and industry-specific SaaS platforms. The majority of endpoints are Windows-based, with Macs used in some creative roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day IT support to colleagues
- Take a proactive approach in improving existing IT processes and workflows
- Manage the company’s IT systems, including configuration, installation, maintenance and monitoring
- Advise the Director of IT on the security, performance and effectiveness of the company’s IT systems
- Enhance the company’s security posture, and where necessary assist the executive team in managing any security or compliance incidents
- Deploy new software and systems and undertake IT maintenance tasks as required
- Develop and implement staff training programmes/material
- Maintain IT policy documents
- Assist with data protection compliance
- Undertake any other IT-related tasks as required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
A minimum of 3 years in front-line IT support roles (with a mixture of Windows and Mac ecosystems) is required. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential skills:
- Security-first mentality
- Strong knowledge of and extensive hands-on experience managing, configuring and supporting a Microsoft 365 SaaS environment, including Entra, Exchange Online, Intune and other related products/technologies
- Windows and MacOS endpoint management and support skills
- Networking fundamentals
- Ability to handle confidential information securely and sensitively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, documentation and training material
- Ability to learn new platforms and tools quickly
- Understanding of relevant legislation and data processing regulations and how it applies to the business
It would be desirable for candidates to have the following:
- 2 years in a supervisory, senior support or leadership role.
- Experience in training groups of colleagues on IT fundamentals
- Relevant Microsoft and/or ITIL Foundation certifications or equivalent
- Experience delivering staff IT training and security awareness programmes
- Experience managing small capital projects
- Automation skills (e.g. Power Automate, advanced Excel techniques)
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
