With our business constantly growing, our buyers have a big responsibility to create attractive and profitable product ranges across the business. They collaborate with our Designers, Merchandisers and Technologists to put together new collections for every season. The role of assistant buyer involves developing a commercially successful product range by building strong relationships with suppliers and analysing data to plan across all categories. Collaboration with designers and merchandisers is key to this process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a commercially successful product range by building strong supplier relationships and using data analysis across all categories.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and merchandisers to create outstanding products.
  • Work with product technology and sourcing teams to ensure high-quality product development.
  • Optimize online sales by working with the e-commerce team on tone of voice, imagery, and other digital tools.
  • Manage the critical path for product development and selection.
  • Identify new product opportunities swiftly and proactively.
  • Day-to-day management of a Buyer's Admin Assistant, driving their professional development, and organise team workflow and priorities.
  • Develop and deliver product for new, selected categories.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Proven ability to manage multiple product ranges effectively.
  • Strong understanding of brand DNA and market competition.
  • Experience as an Assistant Buyer within womenswear apparel, ideally in a fast-paced environment, with 3-4 years' industry experience.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with a confident, commercially aware approach to data analysis with experience using excel.
  • Trend-driven with the ability to identify the latest category trends, and a strong product eye.
  • Track record of streamlining the critical path and trading ranges in-season.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong, confident communicator who voices opinions easily.
  • Able to collaborate and foster a cooperative atmosphere, while equally comfortable getting on independently.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and a strong team player who builds relationships easily.
  • Drives projects and ideas forward, staying hyper organised and delivering projects on time.
  • Confident with people management, project management, and presentation and PowerPoint deck writing skills.
  • Has a spark of magic in their style.
