We’re looking for an experienced Pre‑Sales Engineer to become the technical face of our vendor portfolio — someone who can walk into a partner briefing, a vendor QBR, or a customer proof‑of‑concept and command the room. This is a commercially minded technical role. You’ll work closely with our sales and vendor teams to accelerate pipeline, enable partners, and ensure that the right solution lands with the right customer. You’ll need to be as comfortable presenting to a CISO as you are spinning up a demo environment — and when a conversation calls for deeper technical firepower, you’ll have a multidisciplinary engineering team behind you to draw on.
What You’ll Do
- Own the technical narrative across the sales cycle — from discovery and scoping through to demonstration and PoC.
- Become a genuine subject matter expert on the vendors in our portfolio, including their roadmaps, differentiators, and competitive positioning.
- Support and enable channel partners through technical workshops, training sessions, and ongoing advisory engagement.
- Build and maintain demo environments that showcase our portfolio to its best advantage.
- Respond to RFPs and RFIs with clear, compelling technical content.
- Represent Distology at vendor events, partner days, and industry forums.
- Work closely with Sales to identify technical blockers in the pipeline and resolve them.
- Collaborate with the wider Studios engineering team where opportunities require broader technical depth — IAM, cloud architecture, AI, or security engineering.
- Feed market intelligence back into the business — what partners are asking for, where vendors are winning and losing, and where gaps exist in our portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll have at least five years in a technical role within IT or cybersecurity, with meaningful pre‑sales or solutions engineering experience. Beyond the CV, we’re looking for someone who is genuinely excited by emerging security technology — someone who follows the vendor landscape, has opinions about it, and can translate that enthusiasm into compelling conversations with partners and customers.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- Proven experience delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations to varied audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Strong grounding in cybersecurity concepts — identity, network security, cloud security, endpoint, or OT/ICS (breadth valued over depth in any single area).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure.
- The commercial instinct to connect a technical solution to a business outcome.
- Strong relationship‑building skills across vendors, partners, and internal teams.
Advantageous
- Experience in or around Vulnerability Management and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Background working within a distributor, VAR, or MSP.
- Exposure to identity and access management (IAM/CIAM) technologies.
- Interest toward AI’s impact on security — both as enabler and threat vector.
Why Join Us
You’ll have direct access to vendor leadership, early sight of technologies before they reach the mainstream market, and a team that takes the technical side of sales seriously. You’ll also be embedded within Distology Engineering — a multidisciplinary technical team spanning IAM consultancy, software and AI engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and security engineering. That breadth is a genuine asset: when a deal calls for something beyond the standard pre‑sales’ playbook, you won’t be going it alone. If you want a role where your technical credibility is your currency — and where the vendors you represent are genuinely worth championing — this is it.
25 days holiday (increasing with tenure) + ability to buy/sell days. Birthday off. Free breakfast every day. Quarterly company awards & travel incentives. Cycle to work scheme. Regular team socials.
