Joining Halfords as Group Tax Manager, you’ll work closely with experienced tax leaders and gain exposure that would typically be split across multiple specialist roles. Dual-tax exposure ~ Build experience across both Direct and Indirect Tax (Corporate Tax & VAT), developing a well-rounded skillset. Take ownership across compliance, reporting, advisory work and business-critical projects from day one. Tech & transformation ~ Contribute to major projects, from VAT tech platforms to Pillar 2 implementation. Commercial visibility ~ Partner directly with finance, legal, external auditors, and key business stakeholders. ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified, with experience in practice or an in-house tax environment. Experience in Corporate Tax, VAT or both, with confidence preparing or reviewing tax returns, tax accounting or VAT compliance and an appetite to broaden your expertise. Systems & data: Comfortable using finance and tax systems such as SAP, OneSource or similar, and analysing data to support compliance, reporting and decision-making.
