The role involves leading the commercial arm of the M&A Finance team. The team’s purpose is to build an intimate knowledge of acquisition targets, framing them commercially through the business’s lens and monitoring their ongoing performance as part of the company’s broader strategic framework. As a company that has historically engaged in a high volume of M&A activity, you will be both preparing financial models and investment cases yourself, while supporting other team members through concurrent processes. Your ability to narrate the commercial nuances of our acquisitions will extend to post-completion, as we look to ensure we deliver on our integration and value creation strategies. The role relies on managing and maintaining strong relationships across the group, including the in-house M&A team, Managing Directors, CFO, CEO and wider Commercial Finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with the M&A team to review and appraise acquisition opportunities
  • Form part of the financial due diligence team, unpacking the key commercial drivers behind each target business
  • Co‑ordinate and forecast value creation opportunities between the target business and wider business’s portfolio
  • Preparing and presenting the financials to their Investment Committee and divisional/acquired management teams
  • Ensure a smooth transition and handover to our Commercial Finance team after successfully acquiring new businesses
  • Support other team members in the above activities
  • Oversee the reporting and delivery of acquisition synergies
  • Bi-annual reporting of acquisition cohort performance to the company’s board and investors

Your Experience

  • Qualified Accountant with a Transaction Services background
  • Experience managing a small team
  • Strong financial modelling skills
  • Strong Analytical skills with the ability to spot trends, with good attention to detail
  • Logical, with the ability to understand different drivers of key metrics and how these influence one another
  • Fast learner who is able to pick up new concepts quickly

  • Offering between £60,000 to £70,000 basic salary
