Distinct is supporting a national organisation to recruit an interim Financial Planning and Reporting Analyst on a fixed-term basis. The opportunity is a project-focused assignment where you will support the wider team while bringing fresh thinking to reporting, analysis, and processes. This position will suit someone who enjoys getting into the details, working with large and complex data sets, and partnering with stakeholders across both finance and non-finance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting sales budgeting and forecasting activity
  • Delivering detailed margin analysis and investigating variances at month-end
  • Carrying out ad hoc commercial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Reviewing pricing and margin performance across customer and project activity
  • Developing and improving sales and margin reporting
  • Building new reports and analysis tools that provide greater commercial insight
  • Working closely with commercial and operational stakeholders to explain financial performance
  • Supporting ongoing process improvement and reporting enhancement projects
About You
  • Previous experience within FP&A, commercial finance, or sales and margin analysis
  • Strong analytical capability with experience handling large volumes of data
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working across multiple systems
  • Experience with tools such as Oracle Fusion, Cognos BI, or similar reporting systems would be beneficial
  • Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in an evolving environment where priorities may shift
  • Proactive, inquisitive, and able to bring a fresh perspective to reporting and analysis
