A growing professional services firm is looking to appoint a Senior Manager, within the Office of the CFO department, to join its expanding advisory team. Working with a portfolio of mid-market and owner-managed businesses, this role sits at the intersection of finance leadership, client advisory and operational delivery. Created as a result of sustained growth, this newly established position will also play a key role in strengthening the firm’s presence in the local market, developing client relationships and supporting future business development activity. You will act as a trusted adviser to clients, overseeing core finance activities while leading strategic projects, improving processes and delivering commercial insight. The role offers exposure to a broad range of industries and the opportunity to influence decision-making at a senior level.
The Role:
- Client Leadership: Lead the delivery of finance services for a portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time and within budget. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, becoming a trusted adviser to their businesses. Oversee the preparation and review of management accounts and statutory reporting. Provide commercial finance insight and recommendations to support business performance.
- Advisory and Project Delivery: Lead one-off finance projects, including systems implementations, process improvements and control reviews. Support finance transformation programmes and financial remediation exercises. Collaborate with specialist teams across the wider business to deliver joined-up solutions for clients. Identify opportunities to add value through additional advisory services.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor and develop members of the finance team. Determine resource requirements and ensure teams have the right experience and technical capability to deliver an exceptional client experience. Support the wider leadership team in achieving departmental objectives and financial targets.
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
- Experience gained within practice, industry or outsourced finance environments.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge across UK GAAP and IFRS.
- A track record of managing client relationships and leading teams.
- Experience delivering finance projects and driving process improvements.
- The ability to translate financial information into practical, commercial recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience using finance systems, cloud accounting platforms and technology-led solutions.
