Distinct are working with a leading technology solutions provider, supporting organisations across the public and private sectors with IT hardware, software, managed services and digital transformation solutions. Due to increased workload, they are looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a temporary basis to support the finance team over the next three months. This is a hands-on position within a busy finance function, providing support across accounts payable, billing and general finance administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring invoices are processed accurately, supplier queries are resolved promptly and finance operations continue to run smoothly during a busy period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Investigating and resolving supplier queries
- Supporting the Accounts Payable function with day-to-day activities
- Assisting with customer billing and invoicing processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
- Supporting reconciliations and finance administration tasks
- Providing ad hoc support across the wider finance team as required
- Assisting with process improvements and general finance projects where needed
About You:
We're looking for someone who can quickly integrate into an established finance team and work with minimal supervision. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant role
- Strong Accounts Payable experience
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidence working with finance systems and learning new processes quickly
- Strong communication skills when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- A proactive approach and willingness to support across different areas of finance
- Good Excel and general systems skills
