Payroll Assistant (3‑6 month temporary assignment)

Looking to build on your payroll experience whilst working alongside an experienced Payroll Manager in a growing business?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast‑paced organisation during an exciting period of growth.

As part of a friendly and supportive finance team, you will be the Payroll Manager’s right‑hand person, providing key support across the weekly and monthly payroll function.

The Role

Support the Payroll Manager with the processing of payroll for approximately 750 employees across multiple sites, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

  • Support weekly and monthly payroll processing.
  • Process timesheets and payroll amendments.
  • Upload payroll information.
  • Assist with payroll checks and reconciliations.
  • Support pension administration.
  • Resolve payroll queries from employees and managers.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Assist with payroll reporting.
  • Support payroll improvements and process development.

About You

You will ideally have

  • Previous payroll administration experience.
  • Good understanding of payroll processes.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Confidence working in a busy payroll environment.
  • Previous experience of Staffology would be advantageous but is not essential.
