This pivotal leadership role, reporting to the CFO, is for someone who combines technical excellence with a genuine passion for people, culture, and doing things the right way. It is also an opportunity to step into a highly visible role at the heart of the finance leadership team, shaping how the business reports, governs, and grows.
The Opportunity
- You will lead the Group's financial accounting function, setting the standard for integrity, quality, and best practice across statutory reporting, audit, tax, treasury, and control.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders and the Board, bringing clarity, insight, and sound judgement to complex financial matters.
- Own the half-year and year-end processes, ensuring a smooth, well-governed audit experience and high-quality external reporting.
- Champion strong financial controls while continuously improving processes, systems, and ways of working.
Leadership & Culture
- Lead and develop high-performing financial accounting, transactional, and credit control teams, creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and able to grow.
- Role-model professionalism, collaboration, and accountability across the wider finance function.
- Build strong relationships across finance, FP&A, and the wider business, encouraging open communication and constructive challenge.
- Play a key role in fostering a positive, engaged, and forward-thinking finance culture.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified accountant (ACA preferred) with 5+ years' post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical accounting background, ideally within a PLC or similarly complex environment.
- Proven experience leading teams and operating at a senior functional level.
- Confident communicator who can translate complex finance into clear, meaningful insight.
- A leader with high integrity, sound judgement, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Working knowledge of IFRS is highly advantageous.
