To apply for this position you will need to be currently operating in a Supply Chain position, within a major retailer on the Logistics/Network side of the business, not the product / merchandising side. This is a strategic leadership role focused on transforming a complex, high-volume supply chain through the deployment of advanced planning capabilities, automation, analytics, and digital technologies. You will play a key role in shaping the future distribution network, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the supply chain can support continued growth across stores, e-commerce, and fulfilment operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver the supply chain transformation roadmap across planning, logistics, warehousing, and technology.
  • Lead distribution centre infrastructure and automation programmes, working with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Optimise network design, inventory flows, site capacity, and labour strategies using advanced modelling tools.
  • Drive the adoption of advanced forecasting, replenishment, planning, and AI-enabled analytics capabilities.
  • Develop robust business cases for major investments in systems, automation, and operational infrastructure.
  • Partner with Technology, Commercial, Finance, Retail Operations, and Supply Chain teams to deliver end-to-end improvements.
  • Build and lead a high-performing transformation and analytics function.

We're looking for someone with:

  • A proven track record delivering large-scale supply chain transformation within retail.
  • Strong experience with WMS platforms, forecasting and replenishment tools, network design, and supply chain planning systems.
  • Expertise in warehouse operations, distribution networks, and inventory optimisation.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to develop multimillion-pound CapEx business cases.
  • The credibility to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional change programmes.
