The role: This is a newly created Head of Commercial Finance role with a large, profitable, multi‑site consumer business going through a really interesting period of growth and change. The business has a strong national presence, a well‑established customer base, and a finance team that is growing as the business becomes more commercially complex. This is the bit that makes the role interesting. There is a lot happening across the business: new investment, new commercial opportunities, a broader mix of income streams, and more focus on using finance to help shape better decision‑making. That is why this role has been created.
Why this role matters
They need someone who can lead commercial finance across a key area of the business. Someone who can get underneath the numbers, understand what is really driving performance, challenge where needed, and help senior operational leaders make better decisions. This is not just a reporting role.
You will lead the reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis across a broad range of commercial income streams. That could include:
- Site based revenue
- Partner income
- Customer spend
- Commercial contracts
- New growth areas across the business
But the real value is in the insight.

What you’ll be doing
You will work closely with senior operational leaders, have direct exposure to the CFO, and play a key role in improving how commercial finance supports decision‑making across this part of the business. You will also have one direct report, with room for that to develop further as the finance team continues to grow.

What they are looking for
- A qualified accountant
- Strong commercial finance experience
- Experience in a trading, multi‑site, retail, hospitality, leisure, consumer, property, services or FMCG environment
- Someone confident working with operations and senior stakeholders
- Someone who can turn numbers into proper commercial insight
- Someone happy being close to the detail, but able to step back and see the bigger picture
Experience in a multi‑site or trading environment would be useful, but the exact sector is not the most important bit. The important bit is being able to operate in a fast‑moving business where performance, margin, volume, customer behaviour and commercial decision‑making all matter.
