A public sector organisation operating across South Yorkshire is looking to bring in a Senior Finance Manager on an initial six-month contract. Office presence rotates between Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and Barnsley, with the rest of the week worked remotely.
What you'll be doing
- Take ownership of financial reporting and budget preparation, keeping everything aligned with the relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to manage financial performance and provide insight that supports decision-making and strategic planning.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes.
- Supervise and support members of the finance team.
- Contribute to audits and other financial reviews as they arise.
What we're looking for
- A relevant accounting or finance qualification β CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent β backed by solid experience in financial reporting and budgeting.
- A strong grasp of public sector financial regulations.
- The ability to manage and interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication skills to engage confidently with stakeholders at every level.
- Experience improving financial processes and systems.
- Confidence managing and mentoring a team.
What's on offer
Β£57,000βΒ£65,000, depending on experience, on a six-month fixed-term contract. The role is largely remote, with office presence required just one day a week, rotating between Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and Barnsley.
