Commissioning Engineer Salary: £50,000-£52,000 per annum Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:00pm | Friday 7:30am–12:00pm Benefits: Company vehicle, pension, 5 weeks' holiday + bank holidays, annual bonus and technical training Are you an experienced Commissioning Engineer, Service Engineer or Electrical Engineer with strong industrial fault-finding and PLC experience? I am looking for a Commissioning Service Engineer to join a growing engineering operation, supporting the commissioning, servicing and troubleshooting on behalf of my client. This is a technically varied role that goes beyond traditional service engineering. You will act as an important link between Service, Engineering and customers, investigating complex technical problems, developing practical solutions and identifying opportunities for equipment modifications, upgrades and improvement projects. The Role You will be responsible for: * Commissioning new products and resomation equipment at customer sites. * Carrying out planned maintenance and breakdown support. * Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control system faults. * Troubleshooting PLC and control system issues. * Providing technical support to customers both remotely and on-site. * Investigating complex or recurring equipment problems. * Carrying out root cause analysis and developing practical engineering solutions. * Producing scopes of work for repairs, modifications and upgrades. * Preparing parts lists and technical recommendations. * Supporting engineering design activities where field experience is required. * Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance and serviceability. * Providing quote-ready technical information following customer visits. * Supporting material lists, costing and customer proposals. * Working closely with Sales, Engineering and Operations to deliver customer projects. * Acting as a trusted technical advisor to customers. * Supporting customer training and operational discussions where required. * Producing accurate technical reports and service documentation. * Sharing technical knowledge and supporting less experienced engineers. * Contributing to continuous improvement and product development. About You I am looking for a technically strong engineer who enjoys problem solving, commissioning and customer-facing engineering. You will ideally have: * An Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience. * Proven experience fault-finding industrial equipment. * PLC troubleshooting experience. * The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation. * Strong mechanical aptitude. * Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills. * Experience working independently and managing customer-site activities. * A full UK driving licence. * Strong communication and technical report-writing skills. * A commercially aware approach to identifying engineering opportunities.
