My client, a well-established engineering manufacturer supplying equipment to regulated sectors, is strengthening its procurement function and is looking for an experienced Buyer to support their procurement team.

This is a hands-on procurement role within a technical environment. You’ll lead sourcing activity for engineered components, raw materials, and specialist services, working closely with engineering, operations, and quality to ensure compliant, cost-effective supply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end procurement for engineered/fabricated items
  • Lead RFQs, negotiations, and supplier performance management
  • Experience in sourcing direct and indirect materials, consumables, and services
  • Onboard new suppliers, including low-cost country sourcing
  • Support inventory control and improvement of procurement processes
  • Act as a key ERP user during ongoing system and supply chain transformation
What we are looking for:
  • Procurement experience in manufacturing/engineering
  • Confident negotiator with solid commercial judgement
  • Ability to interpret Technical and Engineering drawings
  • Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable in a compliance-led environment
  • Experience in sourcing direct and indirect materials, consumables, and services
  • CIPS (or working towards)
  • Familiarity with MOD Security protocols and eligibility for SC Clearance
