My client, a well-established engineering manufacturer supplying equipment to regulated sectors, is strengthening its procurement function and is looking for an experienced Buyer to support their procurement team.
This is a hands-on procurement role within a technical environment. You’ll lead sourcing activity for engineered components, raw materials, and specialist services, working closely with engineering, operations, and quality to ensure compliant, cost-effective supply.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage end-to-end procurement for engineered/fabricated items
- Lead RFQs, negotiations, and supplier performance management
- Experience in sourcing direct and indirect materials, consumables, and services
- Onboard new suppliers, including low-cost country sourcing
- Support inventory control and improvement of procurement processes
- Act as a key ERP user during ongoing system and supply chain transformation
- Procurement experience in manufacturing/engineering
- Confident negotiator with solid commercial judgement
- Ability to interpret Technical and Engineering drawings
- Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable in a compliance-led environment
- Experience in sourcing direct and indirect materials, consumables, and services
- CIPS (or working towards)
- Familiarity with MOD Security protocols and eligibility for SC Clearance
