Our manufacturing client based in Preston are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join them on a night shift Sunday - Thursday. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment, plant and electrical across the whole site in line with legislative requirements. This role will include Planned Preventative Maintenance, repairs to plant machinery and changeover of plant equipment.

Main duties of the Maintenance Engineer:

  • To maintain the site electrical equipment to ensure that it is always in good working condition.
  • To assist with installation of new plant and equipment.
  • To carry out planned preventative mechanical/electrical maintenance and repairs of all electrically operated plant and supplies across the whole site.
  • To assist in major breakdowns and equipment failures.
  • Ensure all equipment is safe to operate.
  • Monitor equipment on an ongoing basis.
  • Make recommendations for future improvements.
  • To source and liaise with external contractors and suppliers.
  • To monitor contractors when on site.
  • To ensure that all health & safety standards are maintained and that you show due diligence at all times.
  • To comply with all company policies and procedures e.g. health & safety, training & development, quality, disciplinary & grievance and sickness & absence etc.
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests to meet the needs of the business.
  • Diagnostic analysis, troubleshooting and repairs to electrical control systems incorporating PLC, other microprocessor control and network of automated plant AC DC and servo drives reactive breakdowns.
