The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

The Night Shift Manager will be supporting the Head of Operations and the Business Unit Managers. You will run the night activities of the site and have overall responsibility for the products that it produces. You will also have overall line management responsibility for the staff within these shifts. In addition to this, you will be involved in ad hoc projects as and when required.

Key responsibilities of the Night Shift Manager:

  • Promote a safety culture and ensure all health and safety requirements are met – contribute to the improvement of all environmental, health and safety standards. Compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Maximise departmental performance – efficiency, waste, labour utilisation, service, quality, energy, environmental, hygiene.
  • Excellent customer service – responsible for achieving the production plan.
  • Create and maintain a continuous improvement culture – proactively seek new and improved methods of working to increase efficiency in the overall production process.
  • Ownership of product quality, taking full responsibility for the quality of product through management and compliance with quality systems QMS and QAS.
  • Maintain and improve GMP standards – always audit ready.
  • Adhere to good employment practices relative to legislation, policy, procedure and collective agreement.
  • Employee development and people management including attendance improvement, performance improvement, discipline/grievance/appeals. Determine skills and compliance training needs to fulfil current and future business needs. Lead, coach and motivate a multi-skilled team to achieve individual and team development.
  • Employee engagement – facilitate the development of an open culture of proactivity, pride and accountability. Continuously inform and involve the team and ensure alignment with current and future business plans and objectives.

Personal Skills and attributes of the Night Shift Manager:

  • Must be able to lead, motivate and develop the night shift teams.
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative.
  • Must have excellent IT skills.
  • Must be able to develop, monitor and improve functional KPI’s.
  • Must deliver excellent customer service through management of the night shifts.
  • Previous experience of managing staff is essential.
