Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician looking for a permanent days-based role with a strong manufacturing business?

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join an established engineering team in Trafford Park, supporting the maintenance and reliability of a busy manufacturing site.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement, and wants to work Monday to Friday on a fixed early shift.

The Role - Electrical Maintenance Technician

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for keeping site machinery and equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.
  • Responding to and resolving electrical breakdowns and emergency repairs.
  • Diagnosing faults on complex electrical systems.
  • Fault finding on 110V, 240V and 415V AC systems.
  • Troubleshooting emergency stop circuits.
  • Working with S7 PLCs, ABB inverters, Profibus and SCADA systems.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Supporting machinery upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintaining accurate records through the company's maintenance management system.
  • Maintaining appropriate levels of engineering spares and supporting improvements to spare-parts storage.
  • Assisting with purchasing and ensuring parts are sourced efficiently.
  • Supporting the wider maintenance team with mechanical and electrical activities.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop and working environment.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company health & safety procedures.

What we're looking for - Electrical Maintenance Technician

You will ideally have

  • Level 3 Electrical Maintenance qualification or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with S7 PLC controllers.
  • Knowledge of ABB inverters.
  • Understanding of Profibus and SCADA systems.
  • Experience working with 110/240/415V AC systems.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to fault-find emergency stop and safety circuits.
  • PAT testing knowledge and an understanding of relevant statutory requirements.
  • Good understanding of industrial machinery and electrical maintenance.

Desirable Experience

It would also be advantageous if you have experience with

  • Electrical inspection and testing.
  • Mechanical maintenance.
  • Conveyors, bearings, gearboxes and motors.
  • Counterbalance forklift trucks.
  • IPAF.
