Our manufacturing client based in Irlam is looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their engineering department. The role will include managing a team of six fitters/electricians over a single day shift and overseeing the day-to-day maintenance plans and execution, along with driving improvement projects throughout the department and factory.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in a manufacturing environment and have both mechanical and electrical experience.
Maintenance Supervisor Duties:- Building a high performing, multiskilled maintenance team of fitters and electricians, setting clear performance standards and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules, quality standards and safety protocols.
- Develop and oversee SOPS for consistent and traceable processes.
- Foster a disciplined, safety-first work environment focused on efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Lead daily maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs to enhance equipment longevity.
- Organise incoming repair, project and breakdown jobs for efficient resolution within schedule.
- Maintain high standards in mechanical and electrical work, prioritising safety and quality.
- Track downtime, analyse trends and implement solutions for improved maintenance outcomes.
- Keep repair areas organised and uphold housekeeping standards.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance, equipment performance and inventory.
- Provide regular updates to the Engineering Manager on team performance, resource needs and budgets.
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field (NVQ, BTEC, HNC/HND).
- IOSH/NEBOSH health and safety qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or above).
- Additional electrical with PLC Logic and troubleshooting (Siemens/Preferred) would be preferred.
- Proven experience in a supervisory/Team Leader role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management practices, including preventative maintenance programs.
