Payroll Supervisor - Harrow - 40-45k - 33 Days holidays + Pension + Career Progression Are you an experienced payroll professional ready to take the next step into a Payroll Supervisor role? The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.30 to 5pm and 4.30pm on Fridays. My client is currently recruiting for a Payroll Supervisor to join a well-established organisation, overseeing the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls while supporting and supervising the payroll team. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines strong technical payroll knowledge with excellent organisation, communication and people-management skills. The Role: As Payroll Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end processing of payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent service to clients and employees. Your responsibilities will include: * Supervising and supporting the payroll team to ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time. * Processing weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish using COINS payroll software. * Checking payroll calculations and ensuring all payroll information is accurately entered. * Managing statutory payments and deductions, including Student Loans and Court Orders. * Processing holiday and sickness absence and calculating relevant leave entitlement. * Managing Auto-Enrolment pensions and calculating pension contributions. * Completing RTI/FPS submissions and dealing with HMRC queries. * Calculating pro-rata, daily and hourly rates, including term-time-only employees. * Supporting payroll year-end procedures and P60s. * Ensuring payroll processes remain compliant with current legislation. * Reviewing payroll information and carrying out appropriate checks before submission. * Providing guidance, support and training to members of the payroll team. * Helping to identify and implement improvements to payroll processes and procedures. About You: We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who is confident supervising a team while remaining hands-on with the day-to-day processing. You will ideally have: * Extensive payroll experience, ideally within a bureau or client-focused environment. * Proven experience processing weekly and monthly payrolls end-to-end. * Previous supervisory or people-management experience. * Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory deductions. * Experience with RTI/FPS, HMRC, pensions and year-end procedures. * Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. * The ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines and prioritise effectively. * COINS payroll/ERP experience would be advantageous, although training will be provided on the company's in-house systems.
