  • Job Title – Engineering Team Leader
  • Working Hours – Rotating Panama Shift pattern 06:00 – 18:00, 18:00 – 06:00

The role – Working supervision of the shift engineering team to ensure a high level of engineering support to all site functions.

Ensuring the shift functions within a safe and efficient manner and that all required documentation and communication is completed.

  • Good Engineering Knowledge gained within an FMCG environment.
  • Self-managed and able to influence others to gain their maximum performance.
  • HNC or NVQ3 or higher in engineering with Supervisory experience – Ideally from an electrical background.
  • Good communication and IT skills (Word/EXCEL/Outlook etc)
  • Key duties and Skills required: Engineering Team Leader
  • To manage and prioritise breakdowns ensuring that all work is carried out quickly and effectively.
  • To co-ordinate the work of the shift engineers, ensuring all reports and records are completed correctly and issued within the correct timescales.
  • Work with the engineering planner to ensure PPM tasks are suitable and routine replacement parts are identified for planned tasks.
  • Assist in the Performance management of the team, by carrying out 1-2-1 reviews of shift engineers to implement and measure KPIs/Targets.
  • Maintain high GMP standards across the engineering estate. Ensure the team department is audit ready and the business remains compliant to customer requirements.
  • Maintain the engineering areas standards with regards to equipment, shadow board itinerary and engineering equipment requirements are met.
  • Ensure shift engineers maintain pro-active working practices as well as reactive.
  • To Ensure the achievements of the engineering KPIs and targets are met.
  • Mentor and support the team to ensure effective engineering practices are maintained.
  • To ensure all Company procedures and rules are adhered to and issues are dealt with fairly, promptly, and consistently.
  • Health and Safety standards.
  • Food Hygiene standards.
  • To ensure all plant and equipment are maintained and kept operational and safe.
  • Quick response to breakdowns and its rectification, ensuring that all work is carried out in an effective and safe manner.
  • Ensure all reports and records are completed correctly and issued within the correct timescales.
  • Complete effective handover between previous/following shifts to ensure continuity of maintenance activities and practices.
  • Fully support improvement initiatives and development of the Engineering department to enable the business to grow.
  • Be part of the corrective and planned maintenance programs
  • Assist in the development, input and the full utilisation of the CMMS program, working with engineering planner when required.
  • To establish an effective working relationship with production and ensure regular communication and feedback
  • Provide engineering and technical support / training for Line Technicians
