Our client is a market leading manufacturer operating on a global basis. Due to continued expansion, they have an excellent opportunity for a HR Manager. This role involves working in an ever-changing environment on both generalist HR activities and HR projects.
The HR Manager will support the business by assisting the Head of HR in delivering all HR initiatives across the Doncaster operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Recruitment and management of Apprentices, liaising with the responsible training provider when necessary.
- Consulting with Company solicitors on complex ER issues.
- Enhancing employee engagement through HR walk-rounds.
- Liaising with external training organisations for ongoing delivery of employment law training.
- Managing absence in line with Company policy, arranging welfare meetings and engaging Occupational Health services as necessary.
- Arranging and coordinating Occupational Health in line with specified deadlines and business needs.
- Working closely with Health and Safety to implement actions returned from Occupational Health and reduce workplace accident claims.
- Arranging and facilitating drug and alcohol screens in line with Company policy.
- Supporting Hoshin Kanri projects where HR support/intervention is required.
- Identifying and championing employee engagement and communication initiatives.
- Managing the recruitment process in line with Recruitment policy.
- Informing appropriate parties and providing necessary documentation upon receipt of any accident/injury claims.
- Providing monthly KPIs on absenteeism, labour turnover, and communications for executive and board meetings.
- Maintaining job evaluation records across the company.
- Developing ongoing and collaborative relationships with the Trade Union.
- Organising Discipline and Grievance meetings and investigations as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess the following skills/experience:
- Experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering organisation.
- CIPD qualified.
- Experience in managing a HR role/function.
- Experience of working with Trade Unions (advantageous).
- Good employment law knowledge.
- Excellent IT skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in a standalone or senior HR position.
- Knowledge of Mitrefinch Time & Attendance system (desirable).
The HR Manager will receive a competitive basic salary of £50,000-£55,000 (DOE) plus benefits including:
