The Company

We are working with a market leader who are experiencing significant growth.

They have a clear path for future company growth and as such are looking to add a Warehouse Manager to their team at the Chepstow depot.

You will be joining a team of experienced industry professionals with a chance to progress your career within a growing business with an excellent brand reputation.

The Role

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and compliance of the department to ensure employees are motivated, working safely toward a common goal and maximising productivity.

You will manage a team of 20, and be a key part of depot operations. The role is a mid shift role working 4.00pm-1.30am Sunday-Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all daily/weekly/monthly KPI's are monitored and achieved / exceeded through utilisation and interpretation of relevant data.
  • Manage and coach individuals to perform to their maximum potential through a balanced approach of recognition and managing performance against agreed KPI's.
  • Manage all resources including MHE, cages, pallets and shrink wrap.
  • Allocate work in a consistent manner in line with individual and team capability to achieve targets.
  • Manages and delivers briefings to the team to ensure they are aware of, and adhere to all Company messages, policies and procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with individuals at all levels including those on different shifts and in different departments.
  • Promote and manage all QHSE and Sustainability standards, focusing on team safety and wellbeing in accordance with the relevant policies.

This includes PPE, ops checks, MHE, Contractors, hygiene, temperature checks, pest control, accidents and near misses.

  • Conduct quality investigations when required to understand and establish root causes to take corrective and preventative action or escalation where necessary.
  • Ensure stock is managed to reduce damage and ensure cost and customer availability KPI's are met.
  • Review and implement opportunities for continuous improvement by collaborately working and seeking feedback from own team and related teams.
  • Ensuring all existing and new employees are trained to Company standards with all relevant documents completed and submitted.
  • Set clear expectations including KPI, safety and team behaviours to all direct reports by setting annual objectives.

Hold regular one to ones to review objectives and perform end of year appraisal.

  • Full compliance of the agency worker process, including recruitment through appropriate PSL agencies, full training and completion of relevant agency documentation.
  • What We Are Looking For
  • Good level of verbal and written English and numeracy skills.
  • Proficient in IT and ability to use Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience of a fast moving warehousing and distribution environment, preferably from a multi-drop, multi-temperature food business or similar background.
  • Evidence of effective management experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Manage conflicting deadlines and able to prioritise.
  • Plan workload for themselves and others effectively.
  • Evidence of managing and driving change, in situations constantly requiring adaptation.
  • Evidence of creative and innovative thinking.
  • Solid judgement and influencing skills to provide pace to get things delivered.
