My client, a well-established manufacturing business operating within a fast-paced production environment, is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong electrical and fault-finding experience to become part of a professional engineering team focused on reliability, continuous improvement, and minimising downtime across production operations.

The Role as Maintenance Engineer:

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on production and plant machinery
  • Diagnose and repair faults on complex manufacturing equipment
  • PLC fault finding and controls work (Siemens systems)
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise downtime
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Assist with machinery installation and commissioning
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend system modifications
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and records
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with HSE procedures

Experience as a Maintenance Engineer:

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent)
  • Time-served engineering apprenticeship
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong fault-finding ability across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Experience working with PLC systems and 3-phase electrics
  • Good understanding of engineering best practices and maintenance systems
  • Welding and First Aid qualifications would be advantageous
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
