My well-established client situated in Appley Bridge are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to add to their growing Engineering team. The client will consider either Mechanical or Electrical bias.
Hours: Mon-Thu 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am; Friday 6am-12 noon, 12 noon-6pm, 6pm-midnight
The role as a Maintenance Engineer: The ideal candidate will possess either a strong mechanical or electrical background and be proficient in either electrical or mechanical systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment, providing timely maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime. The Maintenance Engineer will work closely with other team members to uphold high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Responsibilities as a Maintenance Engineer:
- Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues as they arise.
- Able to strip, inspect, repair and rebuild mechanical assemblies including gearboxes, pumps, motors, conveyors, bearings and shafts
- Operate and maintain logic controllers, ensuring they function correctly within the system.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs made and parts used.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or clients.
Experience as a Maintenance Engineer:
- Strong Mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime when required
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- A recognised engineering qualification e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Strong attention to detail
- Maintain high housekeeping standards
