Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £40,000-£46,000 + overtime
Location: Trafford Park
Hours: 37 hours per week | 3-shift rotating pattern (flexible working scheme) | Lots of overtime
The Opportunity:
- I am recruiting a couple of Maintenance Engineers to join the site maintenance team at our Trafford Park manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role supporting a busy heavy industrial environment, where your ability to diagnose faults quickly, restore production, and drive reliability will be key.
- While the role is primarily electrical, you'll also be expected to confidently support the mechanical-biased maintenance activities alongside the wider engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Providing responsive breakdown support to keep production running safely and efficiently.
- Carrying out electrical fault finding, repair, and diagnostic work on production machinery.
- Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and documenting work completed.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and uptime.
- Working safely in line with site Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and permits to work.
- Assisting with mechanical maintenance tasks when required (e.g., bearings, belts, guards, alignment).
- Liaising with production teams and external contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance activity.
- Ensuring accurate completion of maintenance records and reporting recurring issues to improve reliability.
The ideal candidate:
- Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing, production, or heavy industry.
- Strong fault-finding capability on electrical systems including motors, control panels, relays, sensors, drives/inverters.
- Comfortable supporting basic maintenance tasks as part of a multi-skilled team.
- Ability to work safely under pressure during breakdown situations and prioritise effectively.
- Good communication skills and a professional, team-focused approach.
Qualifications / Certifications (Preferred):
- Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) (essential).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable).
- Experience in industrial control systems / PLC fault finding (advantageous).
- IOSH / H&S awareness training (beneficial).
