My client situated in Macclesfield is looking to add a Maintenance Engineer to their ever growing Engineering Division. The role will involve working on old and new machines completing reactive and planned maintenance, great working environment and a company culture. Salary £50-55k Rotating 12-hour days and nights Monday to Friday.

Role Overview: Working in a fast paced and busy environment, the role holder must be safety conscious, always considering not only their own safety but the safety of colleagues as well. You will be part of an enthusiastic Engineering team whose purpose is to respond to breakdowns and maintain site wide electrical systems in order to minimise engineering downtime, also provide continuous improvement support. You will be detail driven, focused through CMMS on maintaining and improving a wide variety of machinery from state-of-the-art Coating machines down to slitting and sheeting machines. You should be reliable, resourceful, and flexible with the ability to tackle and resolve issues as they arise.
You will also be expected to contribute via audits and activities to continuous improvement, with an attention to workplace organisation that underpins our 5S standards. Conduct all engineering activities safely and professionally, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company policies and procedures at all times. Conduct planned maintenance, breakdown and statutory checks as required. Liaise with Engineering Team Leader to prioritise workload and ensure adequate resources are made available to resolve issues. Ensure reports are completed at the end of each shift, logging completed work and flagging issues for incoming shift. Be prepared to work additional hours to cover emergency situations. Improve machine availability. Control contractors; induction and permits, ensuring safe and compliant work on site. Work within the company health, safety and environmental policies ensuring permit to work and isolation systems are employed where practicable whilst working on engineering systems. Ensure that all equipment can be safely isolated in accordance with legislation and good engineering practice. Participate in a range of business-related projects and processes both engineering and non-engineering.
The candidate must be able to work independently on the night shift, as there is only one engineer on nights (never alone onsite though). Electrical/Mechanical qualifications essential. Further desirables: Tig welding, pipe fitting, boiler, strip pumps, fabrication & machining.
Shift pattern:
- Week 1 Mon-Thu Night shift 6pm-6am (4x12 hours)
- Week 2 Wed-Fri Day shift 6am-6pm (3x12 hours)
- Week 3 Mon-Tue and Fri Day shift 6am-6pm (3x12 hours)
- Week 4 Wed-Fri Night shift 6pm-6am (3x12 hours)
- Week 5 Mon-Wed Day shift 6am-6pm (3x12 hours)
NB: Flexibility is required to cover internal holidays.
