We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Leeds (LS9). This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer who enjoys fault finding, continuous improvement, and working with modern automated production equipment. You will play a key role in supporting production operations, improving machinery performance, and minimising downtime across the factory.
Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will provide both reactive and planned maintenance support across state-of-the-art production and packaging lines. You will be a key technical contact on shift, supporting both engineering and operational teams while driving improvements in reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide reactive maintenance support to production operations
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and machinery
- Fault finding on: PLCs and automated equipment, electrical systems and control panels, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production and packaging machinery
- Attend breakdowns and minimise downtime across site
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Support machinery upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Drive continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and plant data
- Work collaboratively with production teams to maximise machine performance
- Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer with multi-skilled experience
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 17th/18th Edition desirable
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, production, or industrial environments
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with PLCs and automated equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and continuous improvement environments
- Experience with Lean, TPM, or 5S advantageous
- Self-motivated with a proactive and positive attitude
- Full UK driving licence and own transport preferred
- Salary between £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
