We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a busy plant/manufacturing environment in Bolton. As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving plant and production machinery across site, ensuring downtime is minimised and equipment performance is maximised. This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical fault-finding skills, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and confidence responding to breakdowns in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and production equipment
  • Attend electrical and mechanical breakdowns quickly and efficiently
  • Fault finding on motors, drives, sensors, relays, and control systems
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings/schematics
  • Work on conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated machinery
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Assist with machinery upgrades, installations, and modifications
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
What We're Looking For:
  • Experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer with an electrical bias
  • Happy working within a plant/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics
  • Strong breakdown and fault-finding experience
  • NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, or plant environments
  • Basic PLC fault-finding experience advantageous
  • Proactive, hands-on attitude
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
