A very exciting time to join and drive this forwards. There’s a BI team here that’s close. Good people. Good tools. A lot already working well. Now it needs someone to take hold of it and turn it into something the business leans on every day. This isn’t about building more dashboards. It’s about making things make sense. You’ll be the person people come to when they want clarity. Not just numbers. Sometimes that means building something new... Sometimes it means simplifying what’s already there.
You’ll lead the team. Set the standard. Raise it. Then raise it again once people get comfortable. There are good people here already. You won’t be fixing personalities. You’ll be building on what’s there. You’ll spend a lot of time with senior stakeholders. Some will be sharp. Some will ask for a “quick view” that isn’t quick at all. You’ll get good at translating that into something useful… and occasionally pushing back when needed.
Power BI is a big part of this. But it’s not about showing off. It’s about whether someone can open something you’ve built and just… get it. There’s also a shift needed around self service. Helping teams use data more confidently, without everything flowing through BI. You’ll guide that over time.
What’s in it for you:
- Proper ownership of the BI function
- A team that’s worth investing in with excellent potential
- The chance to build something cleaner, simpler, better
- Visibility with senior people who value what you produce
- Room to make decisions without everything needing sign off
What they’re looking for:
- Experience leading a BI, analytics or reporting team
- Strong Power BI skills, including dashboard design and DAX
- Comfortable with SQL and data modelling
