Assistant Financial Controller

Location: Nottingham

Salary Range: £50,000 to £55,000 plus benefits

What you’ll be doing

• Leading month end close for the UK entities
• Producing monthly management accounts and consolidating into group
• Reviewing and approving journals, reconciliations and GBS prepared work
• Owning cash flow and balance sheet oversight
• Strengthening SOX controls and supporting internal & external audits
• Handling VAT, PSA, CIS and supporting corporation tax work
• Partnering with Controlling, FP&A and Commercial Finance
• Taking the lead on complex areas such as tax documentation, audit queries and banking
• Supporting automation, reporting improvements and wider transformation work
• Helping develop a small UK team through coaching and day‑to‑day support

What they’re looking for

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience in group or multi‑entity finance, or a first or second move from practice
• Strong focus on processes, controls and month end discipline
• Confident reviewing offshore prepared work
• Calm, organised and proactive
• A person who enjoys partnering with people across the business
• VAT or wider tax exposure helpful but not essential
