Distinct is working with a client undergoing a transition and needs an experienced, hands-on interim accountant to support them.
The role combines a focused balance-sheet clean-up with UK finance support, VAT compliance, and IFRS16.
This is a practical, "roll-up-your-sleeves" position and you will be expected to pick up work quickly.
- Lead the balance-sheet clean-up, reviewing and correcting historic journals
- Prepare and file VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Reconcile balance-sheet accounts and resolve long-standing unreconciled items
- Apply IFRS 16 correctly to leases, including reviewing existing accounting treatment
- Support year-end-related activity and prepare clear documentation for review
About you:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with approximately 5–6 years post-qualification experience
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS 16
- Proven experience in balance-sheet reconciliations and journal clean‑up
- Hands‑on experience preparing VAT returns
- Available to start at short notice
- Pragmatic, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a busy, changing environment
