We are partnering with a growing, privately owned international business to recruit an HR Operations Manager during an exciting period of transformation and growth. Operating within the industrial engineering sector, the business employs over 550 people across multiple brands and locations in the UK, with ambitious plans to significantly grow over the next five years through both organic growth and acquisition.
With a newly appointed HR Director driving a broader people transformation agenda, this role represents a key hire focused on building the operational foundations required to support future growth.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on HR Operations leadership role with responsibility for improving HR systems, processes, data quality and employee lifecycle operations across the business. The organisation has recently invested in Workday and is at the beginning of a wider digitalisation journey. There is a real opportunity to optimise systems, automate processes, improve reporting and create a more efficient and scalable HR function.
The successful candidate will take ownership of HR operations whilst helping shape what “good” looks like in an evolving environment. This is not a business with perfectly polished processes already in place; it needs someone who can bring structure, credibility and operational excellence whilst remaining pragmatic, patient and solutions-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and optimise HR operations across the employee lifecycle
- Own and develop HR systems capability, with a particular focus on Workday
- Improve HR data quality, reporting, audit readiness and compliance processes
- Drive process improvement, automation and operational efficiencies
- Support payroll processes and strengthen controls and accuracy of inputs
- Enhance onboarding, recruitment administration and employee experience processes
- Build scalable and efficient HR operational foundations to support future growth
- Partner with managers to improve adoption and use of HR systems and self-service tools
About You

- Experience improving HR systems, workflows and operational efficiency
- Confidence working with HRIS platforms such as Workday
- A pragmatic, hands-on and resilient approach
- The ability to thrive within change, ambiguity and evolving environments
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
- A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to challenge and enhance existing ways of working
- Payroll exposure would be beneficial, though not essential
