We are partnering with a well-established organisation employing circa 3,000 employees to recruit an Employee Relations Manager on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ER professional to step into a busy, complex environment where ER expertise truly adds value.

The role is hybrid and based in Nottinghamshire with on-site presence required for complex cases, meetings or business need across multi-site locations approximately two times per week.

The role

Reporting into the Head of People Services, you will provide expert, pragmatic ER advice across the business, supporting managers through a wide range of employee relations matters. This is a hands-on role with significant exposure to complex casework, restructuring and redundancy processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex ER cases end-to-end, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability and performance.
  • Providing confident, commercial advice to line managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting organisational change activity, including restructures, redundancy and consultations related matters where required.
  • Coaching managers to build ER capability and reduce risk.
  • Ensuring cases are handled consistently, fairly and in line with employment law and internal policy.
  • Working closely with HR Business Partners and the wider People team to support broader people objectives.

About you

  • Proven experience in a Senior ER Advisor / ER Manager role within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Confident managing high-risk, complex ER cases independently.
  • Experience leading on restructuring and redundancy activity, including supporting managers through consultation processes.
  • Comfortable working at pace in a changeable environment.
  • Pragmatic, solutions-focused and able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience).
