Nottingham – hybrid with c2 days per week travelling to sites. We are working in partnership with a well-established organisation employing circa 3,000 employees to recruit an Employee Relations Advisor on a 12-month FTC. This role offers a great opportunity for an ER professional to build depth of experience within a busy, fast-paced environment while being supported by a wider People and ER team.

The role is based in Nottinghamshire, with on-site presence required for hearings, meetings or business need c2 days per week across a multi-site operation.

The role

Reporting into the Employee Relations Manager, you will support the delivery of effective, fair and consistent employee relations across the business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing ER cases end-to-end, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability and performance matters
  • Providing clear, practical advice to line managers on ER issues and people policies
  • Supporting formal hearings, investigations and appeals, including note-taking where required
  • Assisting with organisational change activity, including consultations and restructures
  • Ensuring ER cases are managed in line with employment law, internal policy and best practice
  • Maintaining accurate case records and supporting ER reporting and MI
  • Working closely with HR Business Partners and the wider People team to ensure a joined-up approach

About you

  • Previous experience in an Employee Relations Advisor or HR Advisor role with a strong ER focus
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Confident supporting and managing ER casework with guidance where needed
  • Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • CIPD qualified (or working towards) is desirable, but not essential
