Working pattern: Hybrid, typically 1-2 days per week in the office, with flexibility
About the opportunity
My client is looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Assistant Digital Marketing Manager to join their marketing team, with a strong focus on paid media, campaign performance and creative optimisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with hands on experience planning, managing and optimising paid media campaigns who is comfortable working with significant monthly media budgets. You'll play an important role in delivering campaigns that increase brand awareness, engage audiences and drive measurable business results.
Candidates from either an in house or agency background will be considered, with experience across B2B or B2C marketing welcome. Retail experience would be an advantage, but it isn't essential. The key requirements are strong paid media expertise, commercial awareness and the ability to use performance data to make informed decisions.
You'll work closely with the wider marketing team, agency partners and creative specialists, with support available from experienced colleagues when needed. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of campaigns while continuing to develop their skills.
What you'll be doing
- Planning and managing paid media campaigns across paid social, display, video and other relevant digital channels, including campaign setup, delivery and optimisation.
- Managing substantial monthly media budgets, ensuring spend is allocated effectively, campaigns remain on track and investment delivers against agreed objectives.
- Analysing campaign results against key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement and making data led recommendations to improve efficiency and return on investment.
- Working with internal and external creative partners to develop engaging, platform specific content that supports campaign objectives and improves performance.
- Using testing, audience insights and creative performance data to refine campaigns, improve targeting and maximise results.
- Building relationships with media agencies, platform representatives and internal stakeholders to support campaign planning, share insights and identify opportunities for growth.
- Working with digital performance and analytics colleagues to develop audiences, interpret results and identify opportunities to attract and convert new customers.
- Keeping up to date with new platforms, paid media developments, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Collaborating with marketing, commercial, creative and web teams to ensure campaigns align with wider business priorities.
What my client is looking for
- Strong hands on paid media experience, gained either in house or within a digital marketing or media agency.
- Experience managing large monthly paid media budgets, with the confidence to monitor spend, forecast performance and make informed investment decisions.
- Practical experience setting up, managing and optimising campaigns across paid media platforms, particularly Meta and Google Ads. Experience with Pinterest and TikTok is also valuable.
- A strong understanding of campaign performance metrics, digital measurement and return on investment.
- The ability to analyse performance data, identify trends and turn insights into actionable recommendations.
- Experience working with creative assets and briefing or collaborating with creative teams to improve campaign performance.
- A proactive and analytical approach, with the confidence to take ownership of activity and suggest improvements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience working in the retail sector, although candidates from other industries are very welcome.
- Experience managing agency relationships or working directly with media agency partners.
- Familiarity with tools such as CM360, DV360, GA4, Smartly or feed management platforms.
- Experience with audience development, feed based marketing, A/B testing and creative optimisation.
- Experience working across B2B or B2C campaigns and an understanding of how paid media supports different commercial objectives.
You don't need to tick every desirable box. My client is particularly interested in candidates with strong paid media foundations, experience managing substantial budgets and a genuine interest in delivering better campaign results.
What's on offer?
- A salary of Β£30,000-Β£35,000.
- Flexible hybrid working, with 1-2 days per week in the office.
- The opportunity to manage substantial paid media budgets and make a tangible commercial impact.
- Exposure to a broad mix of digital channels, campaign strategies and creative activity.
- Support from experienced colleagues and opportunities to continue developing your skills.
- The chance to contribute ideas, test new approaches and influence campaign performance.
