Hybrid Working
Competitive Day Rate / Fixed-Term Contract Considered
Sometimes the most interesting reward projects aren’t those with mature frameworks already in place. They’re the ones where there’s an opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up. We’re supporting a well-known national organisation at the start of its reward transformation journey. Having recently strengthened the leadership team, they’re now looking for an experienced Reward specialist to assess the current landscape, identify priorities, and help shape a more robust and sustainable approach to reward.
This isn’t a business looking for someone to simply maintain an existing framework. They’re looking for someone who can evaluate where they are today, challenge current thinking, and provide the expertise, structure, and direction needed to build a reward framework fit for the future.
The Opportunity
Working closely with senior HR and business leaders, you’ll take ownership of several key reward projects, helping the organisation establish a clear roadmap for future reward activity. Key areas of focus will include:
- Reviewing the current reward framework and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Assessing existing job evaluation and grading approaches.
- Reviewing senior leadership and business-critical roles.
- Supporting the development of a consistent job architecture and grading methodology.
- Establishing reward governance principles and evaluation processes.
- Providing recommendations around future reward structures and frameworks.
- Building internal capability and helping stakeholders better understand reward principles and job evaluation methodology.
- Advising senior leaders on reward-related decisions and priorities.
What We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone who enjoys bringing structure, clarity, and expertise into organisations that are still developing their reward capability. You’ll likely have experience in:
- Reward framework design and implementation.
- Job architecture and job evaluation.
- Senior leadership role evaluation and grading.
- Reward governance and policy development.
- Market benchmarking and reward strategy.
- Leading reward transformation projects.
- Working with methodologies such as Willis Towers Watson, Korn Ferry, Mercer, or similar.
Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable assessing a current state, identifying gaps, and creating practical solutions that can be implemented successfully.
Why This Opportunity?
The organisation is at an exciting stage of its reward journey. There is a genuine appetite for change, strong support from leadership, and a recognition that reward needs greater structure, consistency, and governance moving forward. For the right individual, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact, shape future reward practices, and leave a lasting legacy.
Package:
- Interim day rate or FTC considered
- Flexible hybrid working
- Opportunity to influence business-wide reward strategy
- High-profile project with executive stakeholder exposure
- Potential for longer-term opportunities as the reward function evolves
If you’re an experienced Reward professional who enjoys creating frameworks, building governance, and bringing clarity to complex reward environments, I’d love to tell you more.
