A well-established consumer retail business in Bingley is looking to appoint a Part or Newly Qualified Financial Accountant as it continues to strengthen its finance team.

This role will suit an ACCA, ACA or CIMA studier who has developed a solid grounding in financial accounting and wants broader exposure within a complex, multi-channel business.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will support accurate month-end reporting, maintain strong financial controls and contribute to statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.

The Role

  • Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
  • Support the production of monthly management and financial accounts.
  • Assist with statutory accounts and year-end audit requirements.
  • Prepare VAT returns and other regulatory submissions.
  • Maintain fixed-asset records and support capital expenditure reporting.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting queries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting and finance processes.
  • Support wider finance projects and provide cover across the team when required.

About You

  • Actively studying toward ACCA, ACA or CIMA or recently qualified
  • Experience within a financial accounting, management accounting or assistant accountant role.
  • Good understanding of month-end processes and balance sheet controls.
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of financial data.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence learning new systems.
  • Accurate, organised and able to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Clear communicator who can work effectively across finance and the wider business.
