Distance Learning Assessor – Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £31,925 – £33,869 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Weeks: 52 weeks per year

Please note, this role is fixed term for 12 months.

Whilst this is a remote role, attendance at our Campuses (Selby, Wakefield and Castleford) may be required for team training, CPD days, and other college wide events.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Distance Learning Assessor to join a friendly, supportive, and positive online and distance learning team. The role is varied with lots of opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience whilst they are studying with the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group.

You will be required to:

  • Assess and support learners across a range of Level 2 and Level 3 programmes, including Access to Higher Education
  • Work with students to ensure timely achievement of their qualifications
  • Develop student’s knowledge and skills in preparation for their next steps

As an Assessor you should be confident, well organised, and proactive with good IT skills and a commitment to providing excellent support and guidance.

You will have:

  • GCSE Maths and English A*-C/9-4 or equivalent
  • A Science or Health related background
  • A teaching qualification or an assessor’s qualification is desired
  • A strong and stable internet connection

This is a diverse role where you will be building relationships with curriculum and support staff, and many other stakeholders.
