Disruptive Media is looking for an organised, proactive and tech-savvy Event Manager to help deliver a series of purpose-driven events supporting the Armed Forces, Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities, with a particular focus on large-scale award ceremonies. This is a remote position (with some travel required) and an end-to-end role – managing everything from nominations, judging and partnerships to venues, production, guest communications, content and delivery of a brilliantly executed live experience.
The Role
As our Event Manager, you’ll project-manage the complete event lifecycle. You’ll keep multiple workstreams moving, anticipate challenges before they become problems and bring our team, partners and suppliers together around a clear delivery plan. You’ll also play a central role on site, leading the delivery and execution of events and ensuring that the experience exceeds the expectations of guests, finalists, sponsors and partners. This is a largely autonomous and varied role for someone who loves the buzz of live events, sweats the small stuff and takes pride in delivering to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and managing detailed end-to-end event plans, timelines and critical paths
- Managing relationships and logistics with venues, production teams and other suppliers, and confidently negotiating favourable rates
- Finding smarter, more efficient and more sustainable ways of working
- Managing nomination campaigns to maximise reach and participation
- Coordinating judging meetings, processes and supporting materials
- Managing communications with stakeholders including finalists, sponsors, partners and guests
- Working closely with other team members to understand commercial objectives and ensure they are delivered
- Developing event programming, including speakers, presenters and entertainment
- Managing guest lists, ticketing requirements and seating plans
- Managing event content and materials, including video, sound, show graphics, programmes, signage and websites
- Leading on-site delivery and execution at events, ensuring the audience experience meets and exceeds expectations
- Reporting weekly and monthly on progress and performance against goals, flagging risks and opportunities early and taking proactive action to improve value and efficiency
- Contributing to the long-term strategy of the company by proactively bringing new ideas and concepts
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you are someone who combines meticulous organisation and a strong work ethic with energy, initiative and sound judgement. We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience and knowledge of event logistics and management, ideally including award ceremonies
- Can confidently manage several interconnected workstreams, deadlines and stakeholders
- Has exceptional attention to detail and takes real pride in the quality of their work
- Has a proactive nature – you don’t just do “the job”, you continually look for ways to improve performance, efficiency and results
- Remains calm, resourceful and dependable in high-pressure situations
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person
- Builds relationships easily and enjoys helping colleagues and partners succeed
- Thrives working independently in a remote role while remaining an active, collaborative member of a small team
- Absorbs information and instructions quickly, asks good questions and turns decisions into action
- Is commercially aware and comfortable managing budgets and negotiating costs
- Actively uses and embraces technology, including AI – you enjoy spotting inefficiencies and implementing smarter ways of working
- Is willing and able to travel for site visits, events and semi-regular team meetings in Northamptonshire, including working outside standard office hours when an event requires it
Disruptive Media welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and communities. You'll deliver events that genuinely matter – providing positive social and community impact – with the freedom of remote working and the chance to shape the future of a growing, purpose-driven company.
