Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment. Want to be a part of it? What will you be doing? As our Project Manager you'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex capital projects, typically valued at £1m+, across both Clean Water and Wastewater sectors within the Southern Water Framework. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all governance, assurance, contractual, and regulatory requirements. Working across the full project lifecycle, you'll lead projects from inception through design, construction, commissioning, and completion. Responsibilities include managing programme schedules, risks, change control, reporting, target costs, technical reviews, buildability assessments, and design approvals. The role also requires oversight of NEC contract administration, including Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and programme updates. A key aspect of the position is stakeholder management, acting as the primary interface between Southern Water, project teams, subcontractors, local authorities, landowners, and other third parties. Effective communication and collaboration are essential to ensure smooth delivery and prompt resolution of issues. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture while supporting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. They are responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational performance through proactive management and compliance monitoring. Commercial responsibilities include budget management, forecasting, cost reporting, financial governance, margin delivery, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout project delivery. What you’ll bring Do you have strong, demonstrable experience in project management within capital delivery, infrastructure or regulated environments? Have you got experience delivering complex civils, pipelines, rising mains, trunk mains, tunnelling or similar infrastructure projects.? Do you have experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and subcontractors? Have you got a good understanding of project governance, assurance processes and NEC contract mechanisms? Do you have knowledge of regulated utility environments and associated governance requirements? Do you hold a formal project management qualification (APM, PMQ, PRINCE2) or working towards accreditation? Have you got a valid driving licence? What’s in it for you?
