A senior commercial role for someone who sells with ideas.

The Company

Our client is a well-established exhibition design and build company based in Luton, creating immersive stand and event experiences for brands across the UK and internationally. They are a small, close-knit team that genuinely cares about creative quality and workmanship, and they are growing.

THE ROLE

This is about winning complex, high-value exhibition and experiential projects through proper consultation. You will get under the skin of what a client is actually trying to achieve, shape the creative response with the design team, and guide the whole thing through to a signed project. You will lead at a strategic level, influence how clients think, and make sure what gets sold is commercially sound and genuinely deliverable. Expect to be the trusted advisor on your accounts rather than another supplier on a list. Important: this is a service and solution sale, not a product sale. There is no catalogue and no fixed price list. Every job starts with a blank sheet and a client objective, so we are looking for people from a service, creative or consultancy background who are used to selling something that gets designed around the customer.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Leading and converting high-value new business opportunities
  • Building a pipeline of complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Acting as senior point of contact for key clients and growing those accounts
  • Leading commercial negotiations on pricing, scope and timelines
  • Working with the design team to shape concepts, and challenging the creative direction where it needs it
  • Writing the briefs that inspire internal teams while keeping budget and feasibility honest
  • Forecasting accurately and keeping HubSpot in good order
  • Representing the business at trade shows and industry events

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A service, creative or consultancy background. This is a solution sale, so a career spent selling a product off a price list will not translate
  • Around 6 to 8 years in a senior sales, creative consultancy or commercial role
  • Proven history of winning and running high-value, complex projects
  • Consultative seller who can influence senior stakeholders
  • Used to working alongside design, production and project teams
  • Strong on commercial awareness, negotiation and closing
  • Confident presenting creative concepts and commercial proposals
  • Exhibition, events or experiential experience is highly desirable, along with an understanding of how stands are designed, made and built
  • Happy to mentor and bring on more junior commercial colleagues

WHAT IS ON OFFER

  • £45,000 To £50,000 Basic Plus Commission
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays, plus your birthday off
  • Private medical insurance with AXA
  • Flexi start times between 08:00 and 10:00
  • Holiday Purchase Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme and an Employee Assistance Programme
  • A genuinely uncapped opportunity to grow with a business that is investing in its commercial team

This is an office-based role in Luton, so you will need to be within a sensible commute.
