About Us
We are not a Charity but a pioneering, mission-driven "tech for good" start-up. We are driving meaningful societal change by creating tools and systems that safeguard people in high stress and impulse inducing environments. Our flagship product is focused on preventing gambling addiction and harm at scale. It has been designed to safeguard and protect players from developing a problem through a trifecta of non-invasive, discreet yet effective features.
We are on a mission to hire the best in market talent to compete against other global tech businesses that do not prioritise human wellbeing. As our CFO, you will create the financial & operational backbone, governance and controls with the commercial lens that allows us to understand our numbers and grow responsibly while staying true to our purpose. We exist to prevent gambling harm before it happens. We combine behavioural science, data and intuitive product design to spot risk early and intervene with compassion.
We are:
- A mission-first social impact venture, focused on protecting vulnerable and at-risk individuals.
- A small, highly driven team, building a product with the potential to change lives at scale.
We are looking for people who are genuinely motivated by humanitarian, ethical and social impact work, and who want their craft to matter.
Role Purpose
This role combines strategic finance, hands-on operations and value creation. You will oversee the finance function (largely delivered through trusted external partners) while designing systems, controls and insights that enable the organisation to scale with clarity and integrity. You are not just an accountant: you are a financial partner who cares deeply about where capital flows, what it enables, and how it can reduce harm in society.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Leadership & Governance- Own the finance function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting.
- Manage and coordinate outsourced providers (e.g. Vistra, Grant Thornton) across statutory reporting, bookkeeping, payroll, treasury, AP/AR and tax.
- Design and maintain internal controls, policies and governance processes suitable for a regulated, impact-driven business.
- Implement and optimise modern finance tools, including Ramp, to streamline spend management, reporting and approvals.
- Build dashboards and reporting packs for the Founder and Board that offer clear, actionable insight.
- Partner with the Founder on fundraising strategy, investor relations and capital allocation.
- Lead financial modelling, scenario planning and sensitivity analysis linked to user growth, pricing and product roadmap.
- Advise on pricing strategy, cost optimisation and unit economics, always considering the mission and the people we serve.
- Work closely with the wider team to align financial plans with hiring, marketing, product development and partnership roadmaps.
- Support contract negotiations and vendor management from a commercial and risk perspective.
- Establish scalable operational processes that allow us to grow without losing its calm, purposeful culture.
Candidate Profile
Background & qualifications- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- Early career experience in practice, advisory, corporate finance, or banking.
- Subsequent experience in venture capital, emerging markets direct investment, or similar investment-oriented roles.
- Hands-on finance / operations leadership in a start-up or scale-up (ideally technology or impact-focused).
- Comfortable owning finance in a lean organisation with outsourced delivery partners.
- Proficient using modern finance tech (must be comfortable learning and using Ramp or equivalent tools).
- Strong commercial judgement: able to move beyond reporting to drive decisions on pricing, spend and value creation.
- Experience producing Board-ready reports and communicating with investors.
- Calm, self-motivated and dependable: you bring order, not chaos.
- Clear, proactive communicator; you make complex information simple and transparent.
- Strong ethical core - you care about where money goes and the lives it touches.
- Motivated by social impact and protecting vulnerable people.

Location: London - hybrid (typically 2-3 days per week in co-working; flexibility by agreement).
