We are looking for a people focused leader who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, and passion for quality filmmaking that defines Industrial Light & Magic. The Talent Manager’s role is responsible for managing the ILM artists within their designated department(s). In this role, you will act as a strategic bridge between studio production needs and artist development, driving crewing and capacity planning while also focusing on the career growth of our artistic teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Manages a portfolio of artists including day to day operational support.
- Manage artist crewing and scheduling for specific departments.
- Partners with the relevant Head of Department (Hod) for casting, artist career development, performance reviews and other departmental initiatives.
- Works closely with Senior Studio Production Manager (SPM) on understanding capacity changes, to proactively identify and plan for work coming into the studio.
- Works collaboratively with SPM, Production, Supervisors, HoDs and Recruiters to define and communicate ongoing hiring requirements for assigned departments.
- Engages with show leadership and creative supervision to understand overall project requirements, crewing needs (start / end dates) and project milestones, anticipating and flagging challenges as required.
- Facilitates annual performance review processes.
- Partners with HRBP to establish and maintain an employee engagement strategy (compensation, terms of employment) and Employee relations issues.
- Works with the Training team to develop training plans for upcoming show needs and ongoing departmental artist development.
- May participate in other Studio initiatives and special projects as required.

- Experience in a scheduling or a crewing role in the VFX industry or other relevant production environments.
- People Management experience with strong team leadership.
- Outstanding communication skills - able to adapt the message to the audience to ensure understanding and engagement.

- A high degree of emotional intelligence - able to handle complex, difficult situations with thought, tact and diplomacy.

- A proactive team member who is quick to identify issues and has the ability to bring in the right people to help solve a problem.
- An adaptable individual who can manage a diverse workload and prioritise effectively to ensure all stakeholders are getting the support they need, when they need it.
This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.
