We are looking for a collaborative, people‐focused professional who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, and passion for quality filmmaking that defines Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). The Associate Talent Manager is responsible for managing and supporting ILM artists within their designated department(s) with the support and guidance of Senior Talent Manager(s) / the Director of Talent. Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a vital role in balancing studio production needs with artist development by executing scheduling strategies, managing utilisation, and providing hands‐on support for the career progression of our artist.

What You'll Do:

  • Manages a portfolio of artists including day to day operational support, supported by Senior Talent Manager and / or Director of Talent.
  • Manage artist crewing and scheduling for specific departments. Working with Senior Talent Manager, Director of Talent and /or Senior Studio Production Manager (SPM) to appropriately elevate any crewing issues and collaborate on solutions.
  • Working closely with the Senior Talent Manager, Director of Talent and HR to effectively elevate and resolve people issues.
  • Works collaboratively with Senior Studio Production Manager, Production, Supervisors, Heads of Department (HoD) and Recruiters to define and communicate ongoing hiring requirements for assigned departments.
  • Communicates pro‐actively with show leadership and creative supervision to understand overall project requirements, crewing needs (start / end dates) and project milestones, anticipating and flagging challenges as required.
  • Partners with the relevant HoD for casting, artist career development, performance reviews and other departmental initiatives. Includes Senior Talent Management, where necessary.
  • Facilitates annual performance review processes, closely collaborating with Senior Talent Management to outline career development.
  • Works closely with SPM on understanding capacity changes, to proactively identify and plan for work coming into the studio.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a scheduling, production coordination, HR administration, or crewing role within the VFX industry or a related creative environment is a plus.
  • Previous People Management experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage clearly, professionally, and empathetically with both artists and studio leadership.
  • A dedicated collaborator who excels at building positive, supportive working relationships across the studio based on trust and mutual respect.
  • Understanding of emotional intelligence, with the ability to handle sensitive daily personnel queries with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
  • A thoughtful professional who is eager to ask the right questions, gather necessary context, and ensure accurate information is shared with the wider Talent team.
  • A confident problem solver who can efficiently tackle day‐to‐day operational challenges and knows when to partner with or elevate complex issues to Senior Talent Managers or HR.
  • A proactive and reliable team player who helps to identify daily workflow bottlenecks and works collaboratively to find swift resolutions.
  • A highly organized individual capable of managing a fast‐paced, diverse workload, prioritizing daily tasks effectively to ensure artists and HODs receive timely support.

This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.
